Pleasant Valley Wine Company – Chocolate Lab

April 25, 2014

Pleasant Valley Wine Company – Chocolate Lab Eye catching label to say the least. The color reminded me of prune juice but the aroma and taste was all liquid and fermented tootsie roll. A novel idea and certainly a party wine if there ever was one. See more of our wine reviews at http://wineforecaster.com

Ravines 2011 Cabernet Franc

Ravines 2011 Cabernet Franc – Ravines 2011 Cabernet Franc. A well balanced wine with a brilliant red clear color. A light strawberry nose with a vegetal and clean earthy component. A mid-body taste of pepper develops along with pleasant and consistent fruitiness throughout. The Cab Franc grows well in the Finger Lakes region because of the shale soil.

Rooster Hill Vineyards – 2012 Traminette

March 24, 2014

Rooster Hill Vineyards – 2012 Traminette A well made traminette from Rooster Hill Vineyards. Dark yellow in color with aromas of honey. There was a hint of lychee and the wine was delightfully acidic and crisp. Very nice – a FORECASTER’S CHOICE WINE For more wine reviews go to http://wineforecaster.com

Keuka Springs Vineyard – 2012 Gewurztraminer

March 9, 2014

Keuka Springs Vineyard – 2012 Gewürztraminer Yellow wine with a tinge of green. The nose is full of lemon and lime peel. There is a tropical component to it as well. Their is a definite acidity on your tongue with an initial apple flavor followed by a strong sour candy apple. For more wine reviews go to http://wineforecaster.com
