Although it doesn’t have anything to do with the wine, the label is very carnival like and entertaining. From the Lodi Appellation, this California Petite Sirah has a delightful nose full of milk chocolate, blue berries and vanilla with toasted oak.  The milk chocolate carries over into the mouth as do dark fruits and lovely tannins that become oh so fine when paired with a rib eye. Meyer Lemon Poppy Seed Bundt Cake -adapted from a recipe by Med and Todd Van der Kruik, Go Gluten Free Magazine Spring 2016 Cake 6 eggs 1 cup brown sugar 8 Tbs unsalted butter, melted and cooled (I used Earth Balance) 4 Tbs full-fat coconut milk 1 Tbs Meyer lemon zest 1/2 cup Meyer lemon juice 1 Tbs vanilla 4 1/2 cups blanched almond flour 2 Tbs coconut flour 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp baking soda 2 Tbs poppy seeds Set oven to 350 to warm up. Finger Lakes Riesling Festival August 9-10, 2014 On a hot Sunday afternoon I attended, with a friend, the Riesling Festival along the beautiful shores Canandaigua Lake. The venue was mostly outside on the pier and in and outside of the New York State Wine and Culinary Center in Canandaigua. It was a great event that had more than you anticipated.
