Veraisons Restaurant at Glenora Winery

May 27, 2015

Dinner During our two day venture on Seneca and Keuka Lakes, we made reservations to stay at the Inn at Genora. The restaurant, Veraisons, is adjacent to the Inn and looked tempting so we also made plans to dine there after a full afternoon of wine tasting. We were not disappointed. The dining room is spacious with a post and beam feel with a wall of windows drawing guests out onto the terrace. Finger Lakes Riesling Festival August 9-10, 2014 On a hot Sunday afternoon I attended, with a friend, the Riesling Festival along the beautiful shores Canandaigua Lake. With this evolving journey we have learned to eat a varied and healthy diet without sacrificing on taste. In… Read more

Bristol Harbour Restaurant

April 27, 2014

Bristol Harbour Resort is located on the west side of Canandaigua Lake and offers spectacular views looking south over the lake.  The views are unbeatable and worth the drive there.  The resort offers overnight accommodations and is known for their spa and championship style golf course. We journeyed there for dinner near the end of March and although we could not enjoy the foliage or the outside patio we were able to take advantage of the unimpeded vista.   On this particular evening this Adirondack style lodge was busy hosting a wedding reception.  This increased the festive nature of… Read more

Wine Touring

January 4, 2014

There is nothing more idyllic that taking a drive through wine country and tasting the local fruits of the harvest with friends and family. Having visited the wine country of California and Oregon as well as the local New York and Niagara region, we would like to share some thoughts regarding wine touring. Here are some points that are worthy of consideration. Read more
